Part of my Mother’s Day found me at Rivue in the Galt House for a special brunch called “This Day Revolves Around Mom,” and the Voice-Tribune sent me the assignment. Honestly, I didn’t know if I would do well with it or not because Sunday marked the first Mother’s Day without my mom whom we lost in November. But a funny thing happened. The ladies above could tell something right away. The ladies in the photo, Barbara Carter, Jerusha Coleman and Gloria Taylor talked to me for a bit and we found we had things in common. Barbara found herself in the same situation – first Mother’s Day without her mom, too. And after our interaction, Gloria hugged me, making me grateful and making me miss my mother at the same time.
Meanwhile, I also got a shot of Thomas Draper, the man who says he makes the most perfect omelet in Louisville. When I saw what he made there, I had no reason to doubt his word. Find the preview gallery below and go out to pick up a Voice-Tribune to see it in print.
