When you find yourself lucky enough to cover a top 10 NCAA college basketball team, you want to do it right. When you’re an alum of the school, you want to do it even better. That’s the answer I give my family when they ask why I get to the game so early which is typically 90 minutes before tip-off. In that time period, you get to do your homework, pick out the match ups you want to make sure to get shots of and enjoy the stuff going on behind the television cameras.

The shots here came from the Louisville-Notre Dame rematch at the KFC Yum! Center. You wondered how things would go down because the game they played in South Bend went into 5 overtimes with the Fighting Irish hitting some lucky “they’ll never go in again, ever” shots. This one ended up being no contest as the Cardinals go their revenge by 16 points. It was also Senior Day as the Cards said good-bye to Peyton Siva, Gorgui Dieng and Mike Marra. That story is on Louisville.com. Meanwhile, check out the look behind the scenes below.
