The Valley High School football Vikings had to ride an hour away from their home base of Viking Harbor to meet the Breckenridge County Tigers. It was a fruitful trip for the Vikings record as they came away with the blow out victory 42-0. Valley dominated with smothering defense and a supercharged offense. In fact, it was the supercharged offense they started the season with before an epidemic of injuries sidelined amazing players for weeks at a time.

That doesn’t mean the Vikings came out of the game unscathed, however. They lost kicker and defensive star Christian Solorzano early in the game with a knee injury. Unfortunately, it spells the end of his season, but Christian has been a bright spot in a challenging season and his teammates will miss having him out there.

Next up for the Vikes, Eminence visits for Senior Night. Another opportunity to watch my son London serve up some pancakes. Go Vikings.
