What a journey it’s been. My son, London, joined the Valley High School football team the summer before his Freshman year, excited but nervous. He liked football but had no idea what to expect when it came to actually playing the game.
At the time a new coach, Alan Campos came on to assist. He took one look at London and said, “Yeah, we can do something with him.” At the time, London was big but without the strength he would later come to acquire.
From there, he went from being 5 foot 8 and 230 pounds to being 6 foot 3 and 230 pounds. The change was remarkable. Sure, some of it was puberty. But the work he put in and the maturity contribute just as much. He was the kid that didn’t know anything to an offensive line leader that has helped keep his brothers together.
Now, on the last regular season game if the season, he will be honored along with the other seniors for their hard work and dedication. If you have sone time, come watch them play. They’re in Viking Harbor against Eminence. Kick off is 7:30.
